General FAQ

  • Definitely. Check out our artist portfolio on Instagram or our website to find your style match.

  • All day, every day. Whether you have a clear vision or just a vague idea, our artists will help design something uniquely yours.

  • Yes, but every case is different. Book a consultation so we can see your skin in person and discuss options.

  • Here’s what to include when you book or consult:

    1. Concept or Theme – Explain what the tattoo means to you or what feeling you want it to give off (e.g., bold, delicate, traditional, surreal).

    2. Placement – Tell us where on your body you want the tattoo and how visible it should be. Some areas stretch or fade faster.

    3. Size & Orientation – Estimate the size in inches or show reference photos for scale. Portrait-style? Vertical or horizontal?

    4. Style – Mention whether you prefer realism, traditional, Japanese, fine line, blackwork, geometric, etc.

    5. Color or Black & Grey – Be clear about your color preferences. If you’re unsure, your artist can guide what will heal and age best for your skin tone.

    6. Reference Images – Bring inspiration pictures, but be open to interpretation. They help communicate vibe and direction, not something to copy line-for-line.

    7. Budget & Timing – Let your artist know your price range and if you have a specific date goal (vacation, event, etc.).

    8. Medical & Skin Info – Tell us if you have allergies, skin sensitivities, or past tattoo reactions. Transparency helps us plan safely.

    9. Future Plans – Mention if you plan to expand into a sleeve or large piece later—placement planning matters.

  • Short answer: no, not directly.
    Here’s the breakdown:

    • Copying someone’s exact tattoo (even one found online) is considered unethical in the tattoo community. Each design is that artist’s intellectual property.

    • Most artists refuse to replicate another’s exact piece, out of respect for the creator and for the uniqueness of your own tattoo.

    • You can, however, bring reference images to show the style, texture, color palette, or composition you love. A good artist will take that inspiration and create an original design tailored to you.

    • If you love a specific artist’s style (for example, fine-line botanicals or neo-traditional animals), tell your artist that — they can work inspired by that style while still making it original.

Artists & Custom Work

  • We require clients to be at least 18 years old. Tattoos may not be recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding clients, or for those with certain health conditions like severe skin disorders or immune system issues. We’re happy to discuss any concerns before your appointment.

  • Yes! We welcome walk-ins whenever we have availability. However, appointments are highly recommended to ensure you get the time and artist you want.

  • Sure—but carefully! If you’re unsure, we’ll do it for you at the shop.

  • You can, but space is limited and the vibe is sacred. One quiet guest max, unless your artist says otherwise.

  • If you take medications like blood thinners, have chronic health conditions, or a history of skin reactions, we recommend checking with your doctor first.

Before Your Appointment

Health & Safety

  • 100%. Every needle and tube is single-use and disposed of properly after each session. Our studio exceeds state health regulations.

  • No. For your safety and ours, please reschedule if you’re feeling unwell. We also don’t tattoo anyone pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • Let your artist know before your session — we have hypoallergenic ink and gloves available when needed.

  • Certain medications, like blood thinners or some acne treatments, can affect healing. Please let us know what you’re taking so we can advise accordingly.

  • Our artists wear gloves, use disposable barriers, and follow strict sterilization protocols to ensure a safe environment for every client.

  • Tattoo removal has come a long way — but it’s still a process. Most tattoos can be significantly lightened or fully removed with laser treatments, which break down the ink particles so your body can naturally flush them out.

    • Sessions: Usually 6–12 treatments spaced 6–8 weeks apart.

    • Pain: Feels similar to getting a tattoo — quick pulses like a rubber band snap.

    • Cost: Varies by size and color density.

    • Goal: You can fully remove or simply lighten an area for a cover-up.

    • Note: if your tattoo has greens, blues, and turquoise pigments ensure the laser you are being treated with has the ability to micro-target these colors as they be more difficult to remove.

If you’re considering removal, we can recommend reputable local specialists who align with our quality and safety standards.

  • Session Length

    • Small tattoos (coin-size to a few inches): 10–15 minutes

    • Medium pieces (forearm, shoulder, ankle, etc.): 20–30 minutes

    • Larger or detailed designs (sleeves, back pieces): up to 45–60 minutes

Most of the “time” you spend in the appointment is prep and cooling the area — the actual laser firing part often takes just a few minutes.

    • Small-Sized Tattoo: 1–2 sq. in. (tiny symbol, name) $100–$150 cost per session

    • Medium-Sized Tattoo: 3–6 sq. in. (wrist, ankle, upper arm) $200–$350 cost per session

    • Large-Sized Tattoo: 7–15 sq. in. (shoulder, chest, calf) $400–$600 cost per session

    • Extra-Large Tattoo: (Full sleeve, back, or multi-color piece) $700–$1,000+ cost per session.

The lesson here is - make sure you love your tattoo idea unless you have nearly 6-8 times the amount to get the tattoo as it would be to remove it.

  • If you’re planning to cover up a tattoo rather than erase it completely, you’ll likely need only 2–5 sessions to lighten the existing ink enough for a new design. That’s a great way to save both time and money while keeping creative options open.

Tattoo Removal & Lightening

  • Prices depend on size, placement, detail, and artist. Small tattoos typically start around $100, while larger pieces are priced hourly. Your artist will provide an estimate during your consultation.

  • We accept cash and most major cards. Some artists prefer cash for tips—bring both just in case!

  • Absolutely. Send us your idea, approximate size, placement, and any reference images, and we’ll give you a ballpark estimate.

  • Always at your discretion, but it is encouraged to do so. It is a service-based industry.

  • Yes. In order to lock in your necessary appointment deposit. Deposits can range from $50–$200 depending on the size of your piece and are applied toward your total cost. Deposits are non-refundable but can be transferred with at least 48 hours’ notice

Pricing & Payments

  • Your artist will go over detailed aftercare instructions, but here’s the short version:

    • Keep your Second Skin bandage on for the recommended time (usually 24–48 hours). It helps your tattoo heal cleanly by sealing out bacteria and locking in your body’s natural healing fluids.

    • Once removed, gently wash with fragrance-free soap and pat dry.

    • Apply a thin layer of unscented moisturizer 2–3 times per day.

    • Avoid soaking (pools, baths, hot tubs), direct sun, or tight clothing for at least two weeks.

  • Second Skin (also known as Saniderm or Tegaderm) acts like a breathable shield. It protects against infection, reduces scabbing, and speeds healing. Think of it as a high-tech band-aid for your fresh artwork. It is included in the price of the overall service.

  • Hydration, gentle care, and sun protection are your tattoo’s best friends. Use a tattoo-safe moisturizer or specialized color-enhancing balm to keep pigments rich. Products with natural oils (like coconut or jojoba) help maintain vibrancy.

  • Some redness, peeling, and itching are normal. If you notice unusual swelling, excessive pain, or discharge, contact your artist or a medical professional.

  • Yes! Most tattoos heal beautifully, but if a touch-up is needed within 3 months, it’s typically complimentary.

  • Incredibly. UV rays are a tattoo’s worst enemy — they cause fading, blurring, and dullness over time. Once healed, always apply SPF 30+ broad-spectrum sunscreen to exposed tattoos before heading outside. Consider this your tattoo’s anti-aging plan.

Aftercare

  • Well, pain IS subjective. We would also warn you some parts of your body will be more sensitive than others. Th pain is manageable — think “annoying burn” more than “jump-off-the-table pain.” Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, and we’ll help you stay comfortable throughout the process.

  • Life happens! Let us know as soon as possible. Late arrivals beyond 15 minutes may need to reschedule, and deposits may be forfeited without notice. Please, keep in mind as tattoo artists, our livelihood is based on our creative time & efforts, and if you take our time, it leaves us less time for others.

  • We do not offer piercing, as we focus on what we do best - ensuring you get THE tattoo you want as an investment in yourself.

  • Sorry, no. You must be at least 18 with valid ID—no exceptions, even with parental consent.
